Hello All!
As many of you know, I have been a wee bit stressed out lately between work, family responsibilities and all of the house projects I have on my to-do list. But, for five days I was fortunate enough to get away to a slice of paradise with some of my dearest friends, as we all celebrate the big 4-0(MG) this year.
Oh. my. goodness. It never ceases to amaze me how a little time away with girlfriends recharges my batteries, rejuvenates my soul and gives you a bit of perspective.
And an atmosphere like this, certainly doesn't hurt either.

A few things I learned:
- Wearing a swimsuit and maxi dresses for most of your vacation will pretty much guarantee that your regular clothes will be a bit snug upon your return. (Especially if you stay at an all-inclusive resort)
- Transitioning from Island Time back to Real-Life Time is like re-entering the atmosphere from outer space.
- It's easy to get used to breakfast buffets and piƱa coladas on-demand.
- Coming home to a room full of laundry, and clothes that have been in the washing machine since you left, isn't nearly as annoying as it would be under normal circumstances. (Although I should mention that the rest of the house was amazingly clean!)

So true, so true regarding the swimsuits... but oh how the food beckons :)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you got away to that paradise!! So happy for you! That water is so beautiful. I'm going away with my high school friends for our 40th this fall.....can't wait. Worth the laundry sitting in the washer for 5 days! :)
ReplyDeleteSo true- being able to get away can be so refreshing! I just live for the islands...your photos are beautiful!

I hear ya! I just got back from Palm Springs and am almost caught up with all of the laundry. I definitely needed to be recharged with a pool, great Mexican food, happy hours and shopping. Now it's back to reality (and tight clothes) :) but it was so worth it.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are beautiful!! Welcome back!
