You bloggers out there with such great ideas, make working (outside the home) mothers like me look GOOD. Instead of being the frantic, frenzied mom who comes to preschool with store-bought Valentines, this year I am the working mom who looks like she really has her sh..., stuff together. ;-)
I have to give credit to A Thoughtful Place for her super-cute treat bag idea that I "borrowed". Hers still looks way cuter than mine, but with the volume of treats that I had to deal with, time was of the essence.
Granted, no project goes as smoothly as you think it will, and I had a Stapler Incident in the midst of my progress (ran out of staples, couldn't find my replacement ones, bought a new stapler that was a piece of crap, etc...). But, 100+ Valentine's goody bags later, I am happy with the end result. I should also mention that I offered to bake for a cancer fundraiser, thus the reason I had 100+ Valentine goodies (and was up until 12:30 last night tying ribbons).
Sorry for the picture quality - I took them semi-bleary-eyed this morning.
And of course, some cute Valentine's Day buckets of treats for the kiddos. Buckets were just 49 cents ala Goodwill. :-)
A blog makeover is on the way! Stay tuned and have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Good for you to not only be so busy but helping to raise money for charity as well. You've inspired me!
ReplyDeleteI'm a working mom here. I feel your pain and was up until 12:30 wednesday night making chocolate pops to attach to my daughter's valentines for her preschool party. sometimes I think I try to over-compensate as I want to do more but time is always an issue!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I'm a working mom too...thanks for the ideas :)
